In a school with a multi-ethnic background, parents might consider offering their services to come into your home to cook an authentic ethnic meal for your family. I know a person with a very interesting profession. They offered a behind-the-scenes guided tour of their workplace. It was excellent! An avid gardener could offer a landscape consultation/plan for an outdoor makeover. A person who owns horses could offer a riding lesson or trail ride. A good golfer could share a round with you at their favorite course (and if it's someone at the school who is a well-known charismatic character, all the better). What I'm saying is that unique experiences appeal, not just things. There's more to it than having a couple of big-ticket items.
