I’m in charge of one of our school rafffle basket (cooking theme). The theme of the auction is "the oscars" and the baskets will be raffled there. Any ideas of what I could include in the basket, as well as a name for it. I’m considering including an indoor grill, a cooking school class, aprons, untensils, some wine and a cookbook. Anyone have an idea how I can tie in the theme of "the Oscars" as well?
I guess that the ideas would depend on how simple or sophisticated you want to make the basket. I do like your ideas. Here is an idea for a different basket. Buy a couple Oscar nominated movies, on dvd, that have been released, and include items for a movie night. You could include a gift certificate for a local pizza place, stove top popcorn, beverages, various snacks, and family friendly cookbooks. You would be creating a family movie night. As for the cooking theme you could include the movies Ratatouille or Reservations.
The kind of basket that you make will depend on the price that you are hoping to get, and the individuals that you are creating it for. Your basket is great for adults but doesn’t include anything for kids. Is it going to be adults only at the auction or will there be children there too? If there will be kids there you may want to include items that they would find interesting; if it grabs their attention they will usually make sure that their parents know they want it.

You could also try this. Get a Oscar nominated movie and if that movie has any scene in which people are eating something you can make a basket of all those ingredients and also place a recipe card. Or you can just make a basket like pasta basket, or cookie basket etc. Like if u r making a pasta basket u can put different kinds of pasta, different sauces, herbs (dried), spices , wines, cheese, fancy water bottles and some recepies. You can also include some pasta bowl set or pasta pot with it. Also don’t forget some mints or after the meal candies.
