school prom fundraising ideas?

can you please give us fundraising ideas for proms.
We have basketball match, sponsered walk, concert, auction of to teachers, pie in the face and guys are getting the legs waxed please help with other ideas ?

All fundraising groups are going to have to sell their items to generate money. Everyone starts with selling to mom and dad then moves on to friends. - People do not want to be told what to do. Your job is to make people feel good about donating to your school group.
- When you get a no, don’t take it personally. The donors are not saying they don’t like you; they just may not care for the product or have the money available at the time.
- For people who are nervous about selling a little preparation is key. By practicing your sales talk it will bring confidence. Again the goal is not to recite something word for word but to talk about your fundraising campaign with confidence. It might sound a little funny but try role-playing if selling is an issue with you. Spend time with people rehearsing just talking and getting past an objection or two.
- Avoid hard selling. There is no need to be pushy while fundraising. People like to help out and also enjoy buying. You may even be able to offer them the chance to show up to school to check out the new equipment, or the new uniforms for the baseball team. By being friendly and a good representative you just might pick up new volunteers along the way.
- If possible get a booth or a table in a high traffic area. Places like malls or local events. This will get you lots of traffic and potential donors that you can approach.

These sales tips are good for whatever sales you might find yourself in. You might even consider these tips good advice for talking to people and relating. Remember interacting with people will serve you better than just about any learned skill taught. A little preparation with these tips will insure that your fundraising campaign is both fun and profitable.

The fundraiser includes a concert from local bands, an art show /sale, wine tasting, silent auction and raffles. It benefits a grassroots organization that helps victims of kidney disease and their families.

Most "traditional" fundraisers are already done at my school by specific clubs, and out of courtesy we don’t use those fundraisers. For example:
Car Wash
Bake Sale (sort of)

Selling coupon books and such never works. We’re raising money for our Junior Prom and need $4,000 more. We’re having an auction soon, but do you have any simple, creative ideas for making money for our class?

Fundraising question-How do you get them spending?

I belong to a mother’s of multiples club. We hold an auction-live and silent every year. What I have noticed is that most of these mom’s come looking for a bargain rather that looking to support our club financially. How can we change that?

I am looking for ideas to get people to the auction and when they are there-get them spending.

Maybe you need some new marketing techniques or a new development plan. Make sure those who are invited to the fundraisers know where the club spends it’s money and why it’s so important to donate (buy something) and what the club means and it’s importance to the community.

I got nominated to attend the NYLC in Washington D.C. and it’s breathtakingly expensive. Im going to do fundraising inorder for me to attend. I have two ideas so far and they are: car wash and a date auction.

Well the question above is really straight forward. I just need a way to fund-raise 1,000 dollars to buy toys for the chairty. I was thinking of a fashion show, or a bake sale, car wash, or auction, but i want something even better. I don’t want to buy any fund-raise packages. Does anyone have anything that they know will give me alot of profit? Thank you for your time.

Do a garage sale!!!!! I raised over 1000 bucks for my girl scout troop, in just one garage sale! Get a ton of your friends to donate stuff that they do not want, like clothes, DVDs, cds, old baby toys. Then look through your bedroom for things that you do not want. And ask your parents for things that they don’t want. Get in a car. Put signs everywhere with arrows pointing towards your house. And set everything up! Make sure you set up really, really early, like 6 oclock. Thats when all of the old ladies go "garage saleing" You could also do a car wash with a bunch of friends, make sure your signs say why you are doing a car wash or garage sale. It will make people feel bad for you if you are trying to raise money.

I am trying to find e-mail addresses of celebrities to try and get signed photos etc to raffle or auction to raise money for a care of the elderly ward in a hospital which badly needs new equipment. Many of our patients have no relatives so come into hospital without even the basic toiletries and so we want to buy nice soaps, toothpaste etc for them to have. Any help to raise money or any suggestions would be fantastic does anyone have any suggestions.

The last hospital fundraiser i was involved with we had a big bar b que, 5 bucks a plate, had a dunk a doc booth, a soft ball throwing contest, a bedpan toss, sold hospital t shirts for 20 bucks we had a face painter and balloon clown, and had a blast. a small blue grass band volunteered, people even danced..it was great!

I am involved with the Relay for Life in Michigan. Some of the best silent auction items I have used are:

a basket FULL of breads, pies and sweets from the best bakery in your area
a bike
2 tickets to a Detroit Tigers game
Spa package for two

Check around your city, many business owner are willing to donate items!

Building a school in Tibet and need fundraising tips?

My club at college is going to adopt a school in Tibet and fund the building and school supplies. I am in charge of fundraising, but I really don’t have any experience in that area. I’ve done some fundraising for soccer teams but for the school we need A Lot more money then those fundraisers brought in.
Does anyone have any success stories of how they raised money? I was thinking of having an auction as a start and I’m looking into having a dinner fundraiser on a boat (we’re right by the coast) but I’m not sure how to carry these out.
I’m not looking for easy answers, just someone to point me in the right direction. Building this school is really important to me and I don’t want to let people down.

All you guys do is get people in your community to attend the cruise- they get a vacation AND its for a good cause so a portion of their ticket is tax deductible!

This sounds like something you all would have a lot of success with-let me know if you want more info…

Your other ideas are good, too, btw- it is just a matter of doing all the legwork to make phone calls and stuff, but if you have a Carnival ship that docks in your area this would be a great fundraiser because all YOU have to do is get people to go- like announce it at other functions and stuff…
