I have a big project to do at school and it has to be related to agriculture, so I thought about maybe raising some sort of livestock animal and maybe even a foal or something. I would have to get them cheap though, which made me think of a livestock auction. don’t know anything about auctions. I don’t even know if you can buy single animals or not. Advice?
Best advice I can give is you may wanna’ rethink your project,,
Unless you have a place to raise the animal, horse or calf, boarding either wont be cheap,,
The cheapest equine boarding around me is $100 a month for pasture boarding,, If you want a barn stall, 250,
I’m doing a project for school that will be promoting an art auction. It’s an animal themed event that raises money for an association that spays and neuters animals. The name I have for the event is "The Critter’s Canvas". I’ve just hit a major creative block and can’t seem to get past it.
The promotion includes a poster, and an invitation. What I have so far: a "defaced" print of the Mona Lisa (or some other famous painting) with paw prints and doggie/kittie ears painted over it. I haven’t a clue for the invitation yet, but I was planning on including an auction sign as part of the mailer. Any ideas? Know of any good websites that I could check out for inspiration?
Do a search under images, and search Animal posters, or Animal paintings. this may inspire you. good luck.
A hospital in my neighborhood has recently added a new children’s wing, and for my gold award I was thinking of doing something where I would have pediatric patients create some form of art (a painting, clay, a drawing, etc.) and auctioning them off or having a raffle for them at some event. Then I would use the money I raise to buy toys or books to donate to the hospital.
1. Do you think this is a good idea/anyone would be willing to buy them?
2. Do you have any ideas as to where I could hold the auction or raffle? I was thinking somewhere like a PTA event at the elementary school or something like that.
Thanks!
It’s a GREAT idea. I wouldn’t raffle them off though. I’d do the auction. People will definitely buy art from sick kids.
My cousin’s 4th grade class (about 30 10-year-olds) is looking for a class project for a school auction that is Disney themed. (This means, but is not limited to some type of personalized gift that parents of the students in the class will like) The only idea so far is some type of Disney themed gift-basket. The total cost should be around $110.
Any ideas on a Disney themed gift, or items to put in a Disney gift basket within budget would be greatly appreciated!
Lots of neat ideas are here (no affil):

Their store was at our mall – excellent quality items, too, and sales!
Hi there! I’m a teacher about to start an auction project for our school. I’d like to make a quilt where each child gets as block to turn their hand print into an animal. I plan on using Tsukineko all purpose inks for the children to color in their backgrounds. All I need is a plan of attack for the hand prints. I do not want to "outline" their hands using the inks b/c it looses the hand print impression. I thought about using fabric paint, but it seems that every fabric paint I’ve used would dry too stiff for a quilt and causes the fabric to "buckle." Perhaps I need a brand recommendation?
I would like a clear hand print image (with lines and everything) while maintaining the softness of the fabric. Any ideas?
Oh! Obviously I’d like great results, but they need to be cost effective too. I’d like to be able to have a variety of colors without having to spend a lot of money. The Tsukineko inks were already available to me.
I’d use a home-made stampad and either Jacquard Air Brush Ink or Jacquard Lumiere or Neopaque fabric paint, slightly thinned.

I’ve done fingerprints with the neopaques and lumiere by brushing it out thinly on a foam meat tray, then
putting my finger in it, then transferring to stretched cloth.
