I attended an auction for my daughter’s school the other night. I have been to this event for several years running. As the auctioneer counted down the seconds I made a bid on an item, knowing that with only five seconds left I would be the last bidder. Another parent who wanted the item tried to grab the paper/pencil out of my hand so that she could place a bid. When I told her that I was writing she had a hissy fit and her husband and her staged a scene. I felt like I was in the twilight zone as everyone in the room who really wanted something made sure they put in the last bid. Is this sour grapes on their part? What should I say to this parent when we run into each other after such negativity?
Just smile if you see her and nod politely. Theres no need to enter into conversation with her. If she addresses the issue fine, but I wouldn’t go out of my way. She was extremely immature and thats all there is to it.
(Or you could dance around in front of her waving the won item singing- ‘ner ner ner ner ner’- j/k lol.)
